FLAC TO WAV GUIDE

Why Convert FLAC to WAV?

Decode FLAC audio into WAV for editing software, production tools or PCM-based workflows.

Recommended starting pointExpect a substantially larger file because WAV PCM is typically uncompressed.
INPUT

FLAC

A lossless audio format that reduces file size without discarding decoded audio information.

Lossless music libraries, archiving and high-quality audio workflows.
OUTPUT

WAV

An audio container commonly used for uncompressed PCM audio in editing, production and interchange workflows.

Editing, production, transcription and software that expects PCM audio.

How to convert FLAC to WAV

  1. Upload your FLAC file above.
  2. Keep WAV selected as the output.
  3. Choose Balanced quality unless your workflow needs another setting.
  4. Open Advanced settings only if you need trimming, resolution, bitrate, sample rate or a custom filename.
  5. Start the conversion and download the finished file when it is ready.
Before you convert

Converting a lossy source such as MP3 to FLAC does not restore missing quality. Uncompressed WAV files are much larger than MP3, AAC or OGG.

Changing a container or codec cannot recreate quality already missing from the source, so keep an important original when possible.
